What is a caricature?

A caricature
is a portrait that over exaggerates or distorts the features of a person whilst still maintaining a good visual likeness of the subject.

A caricature can draw upon certain redeeming fearures and either compliment or even insult the subject for entertainment. A caricature is one of the hardest portrait styles to master.

How can I learn to draw a caricature?

Drawing a caricature is very simple when you know what you should be looking for and how to apply it to your portrait.












One way to learn how to draw a caricature would be by taking a course at your local art college or an evening class.
